CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

We are proud to announce that the ABCSW Inaugural Conference on “Healing a Traumatized World: Clinical Social Work at its Best” will be held in Orlando, Florida, from Wednesday, August 3 through Saturday, August 6, 2022.  We invite you to join us for this historic gathering of elite clinical social workers that is the first since the inception of our organization.  We are excited about the possibilities of sharing knowledge and forging new relationships as we face a time of unprecedented need for our professional values and skills.

We welcome proposals from all interested professionals for both individual and panel presentations pertaining to the following three topic areas:

1)      Trauma-informed therapies
2)      Clinical social work that addresses a traumatized world through social innovation and emerging research in collective trauma, cultural competency, systemic racism, etc.
3)      Trauma in uniform (i.e., active-duty military, law enforcement, veterans, first responders)

Presentation proposals are being sought for a maximum of 24 one and one-half hour breakout sessions that will occur live at the conference, as well as being recorded for on-demand retrieval after the conference.  The Conference Committee is allowing for a minimal number of these breakout sessions to be delivered virtually via Zoom or some comparable platform to foster inclusion from potential presenters who cannot travel to the conference site.  Welcome to the age of the new hybrid conference!

***Submission Process***

Proposals for presentations must be submitted to the Conference Committee online.  The submission site can be accessed beginning August 30, 2021 at  https://abcsw2022.exordo.com/login

Submitters will be asked to create an account and then follow the prompts regarding the information required to submit a proposal.  The submission software will also ask for identifying information and short biographical information about all professionals who will be part of the proposed presentation.  However, reviewers will not have names connected with proposals.

All submitters will be asked to agree to have their presentation taped or live-streamed.  Care should be taken that all confidential material is sufficiently disguised to ensure lack of recognition of case reports.

The deadline for receipt of presentation proposals is November 1, 2021.  Presenters will be notified of the Conference Committee’s decision by February 15, 2022.  Should your proposal be accepted, you will need to register for the conference.

We look forward to seeing all of your submissions,

The ABCSW Conference Committee
