Session Description:
Ethical decision-making is an essential foundation of professional practice in social work and mental health fields. However, navigating ethical dilemmas often poses significant challenges, especially for emerging professionals and seasoned practitioners alike. This presentation, From Dilemma to Decision: Enhancing Ethical Practice Through Mentorship and Supervision, explores the critical role of mentorship and supervision in fostering ethical competence and empowering professionals to address complex ethical scenarios with confidence.
Grounded in evidence-based frameworks, this session delves into strategies for integrating mentorship and supervision as essential tools for ethical growth. Topics include the identification and resolution of common ethical dilemmas, the role of supervision in cultivating reflective practice, and the importance of mentorship in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Attendees will learn the impact mentorship has on the ethical decision making process, promote ethical dialogue and conflict resolution skills, increase self-awareness and personal biases and foster an organizational culture of accountability and integrity.
By equipping practitioners with enhanced decision-making skills and reinforcing the value of mentorship and supervision, this presentation aims to contribute to the development of ethical resilience and professional excellence in the field. Ideal for supervisors, mentors, educators, and practitioners, this session will provide actionable insights to elevate ethical standards and promote a collaborative approach to resolving dilemmas in practice
